I've heard various opinions on the subject. I'm working on my first (semi) bulk subs right now, so I can't say from my own experience. It seems from my reading online that, if you provide the right nutritious substrate, size doesn't effect potency.

It really depends on the type of shroom...cuz APE are usually small but they are the strongest cubie...but wikidzonz are huge and super strong too, so it is just a matter of preference IMO

Giant mushrooms, for sure. The potency is gonna be whatever it is, so you might as well try to get all you can out of them.

Look, a giant monotub will produce a crazy yield, I agree, but it is by far not the best way to do things. On the contrary I do smaller projects usually with good results but if you put all your eggs in one basket and it goes bad you are fuct and lose everything. There is no "Best" way to do things....the way we do it is the "best" IME but to each his own.

Trip, be thankful you aren't permanently banned, but you need to take it easy pushing stuff...we do things a lil differently here, so just chill and read...and if you have something productive to add, by all means do it. I see mushroomgeeks is gone so I will give you one last chance since I had already suspended your account for starting shit when you 1st got here...Please try to figure out how we do things and conform to our board standards or else you'll have to leave. guys guy I could be wrong here but when I read the OP I see what sized mushie do you prefer as in should one harvest when they get a lil size on em or wait till the are full sized and dropping spores(oldvern if I'm wrong here please speak up) not how do we each prefer to grow them just when we prefer to harvest as for me if that is what your asking I like to see em full sized and dropping spores before I pick em but I don't care if they are huge boomers or little guys I'll take whatever the mush wants to give me I just want em to have a full lifecycle before I killem....

I'm still new at this but I think I would rather see a bunch of average sized ones so the big guys aren't stealing all the water from the smaller ones. But overall I would choose the ones the have the best weight.

yeah that was half of it but the other half is kinda a quality over quantity , ie non cube varieties more potent but smaller.

I'm a big fan of little clusters.
If for no other reason, I like to be able to have at least a few fully formed mature mushrooms visible in every dose. A visual representation of what is being consumed.
I just don't like handing someone a piece of stem and the accompanying quizzical looks like "what the fuck is this".
Alot of people start mind tripping way before they even consume a dose, if it looks good, it must be good.

As a test, I took a batch of shrooms, half I split and dried the other half I split then bruised with my thumbs to make them blue up before I dried them. This test was shared with some friends over a couple months of trip nights.
Comments like "people are scared of the blue ones"'"man those blue ones are the best","got any more of those blue ones?" were all said and much repeated since.

In Culinary art school we were taught, "People eat with there eyes first". I firmly believe that and so the fondness of small clusters.
